Start with one purpose
Do you want new colleagues to get acquainted, departments to collaborate or your team to recharge? Choose one main goal. It makes selecting a location, activity and programme much easier.
Design for your actual team
Ask about transport, mobility, dietary requirements and a shared working language. Leave some time unplanned. A walk or a good conversation can be more valuable than another scheduled activity.
Agree budget and responsibilities
Allow for transport, food, location, guidance and any content production, not just the activity. The proposal should show what is included and what is optional.
Give the camera a clear role
Decide how you will use the content. Recruitment needs a different story from an internal recap. Discuss voluntary participation in identifiable footage and agree image usage.
Review what the day achieved
Ask participants what worked and what they will take back to work. Measure publications separately: conversations and enquiries say more than the number of photographs taken.
